My Story

My story in sport did not begin with confidence or control, but with tension. As a young volleyball setter, I believed mistakes were unacceptable. I chased perfect games, clean sets, flawless decisions. Every error felt heavy, and instead of moving on, I replayed it point after point. That mindset was shaped early, when a coach would substitute me almost every time I made a mistake. Without realizing it, I learned to associate errors with punishment rather than learning. Over time, I became a perfectionist who played tight, cautious, and emotionally drained. I was physically prepared and technically capable, yet mentally exhausted.

Looking back, that struggle became my greatest teacher. It showed me how powerful the mind is in performance and how easily talent is limited when confidence, composure, and self-trust are missing. That inner battle stayed with me long after my playing days and sparked a deep curiosity about the “why” behind performance. I realized my biggest limitation was never my body, but the voice in my head between rallies.

I speak the language of sport, not just psychology.

That realization led me into sport science and mental performance. Through studying, coaching, and working with athletes, I kept seeing versions of my younger self: driven, committed, yet trapped by fear of failure. Mental Edge was born from that recognition. My goal is simple and personal: to help athletes develop mental skills to compete with freedom, resilience, and trust in themselves.

My professional journey reflects that curiosity. I hold a degree in Physical Education, a Double Master’s in Sport and Exercise Psychology, and formal teacher training, grounding my work in both science and education. I have taught physical education in primary and secondary schools, lectured psychology at university level, and coached volleyball across academies and universities. Alongside this, I have worked as a strength and conditioning coach in professional sport and as a mental performance coach supporting athletes from youth to elite level. My multidisciplinary background allows me to understand athletes fully, not just psychologically, but physically, tactically, and emotionally. I speak the language of sport, not just psychology.
